A very exciting Job Opportunity has just come in...

Graphic Designer: Prominent Hospitality Group based in the Midlands

The position is a fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave from the last week of June 2011. The job entails providing highly creative design work that adheres to the associated Design Brand Standards of the Hotel group. We are looking for a creative designer who can work in a fast paced environment and adapt and apply our brands to the various markets we participate in. We would provide an internal brief for each individual piece of work. Applicants would need to have at least two years experience in the industry behind them, be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 4 and have a good understanding of the prepress and print processes. Knowledge of Microsoft programmes is also needed. The successful candidate will be able to work on a PC platform.

Job Specification:

1 Report directly to, and liaise with the Commercial Director of Hodson Bay Group.

2 Together with the Heads of Sales & Marketing, prioritise all jobs in line with seasonal demands and priorities.

3 Have strong conceptual skills and understanding of corporate branding, layout, colour theory and typography. This should be evident in the portfolio presented at interview stage.

4 Have strong commercial awareness which will lead to creating the most suitable solution to a brief.

5 Design of all collateral (including adverts) for each property with the principal objective to drive enquiry - consistent with our existing brand guidelines.

6 Introduce innovative ideas and creative solutions to achieve ‘stand out’ in the marketplace.

7 Have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

8 Have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.

9 Be able to work on your own initiative, but also take direction when given.

10 Managing the order process - from the completion of all jobs within the specified deadlines, collecting and comparing quotes to the issuing of the PO.

11 The maintaining of spend administration via the Hotel Groups' marketing spend accruals process.

12 As part of the team, contribute to all initiatives as part of the collective effort to continuously improve our target marketing efforts across all market categories.
